Oct. 10, 1973 - Jackie Stewart retires from Motor racing; Jackie Stewart, 34, three times world champion racing driver, yesterday announced that he has retired from motor racing. He said yesterday that he had decided last April to quit motor racing. But I could not let it be known until now. He added, If i had said in April that i would still drive in five, then four, then three grands pix until the finish of the season, it would have been an unreasonable strain on my wife.'.
