Sep. 09, 1975 - 100th birthday of car designer Ferdenand Porsche on September 3rd 1875: One hundred years ago, on September 3rd 1875, Ferdinand Prsche, one of the most important and all-round engineers of car construction in Germany, was born in Mafersdorf in Bohemia. At the beginning Ferdinand Porsche was working on the electric driving forice; 976 he becane general manager of the Austro-Daimler firm in Wiener-Neustadt, seven years later he joined the Daimler AG in Stuttgart. There he constructed numerous passenger cars and lorries 1931 he founded a construction firm of his own in Stuttgart, which constructed many types of cars like also the 5-liters sportscar of the Auto-Union. The most sucessful construction was the Volkswagen since 1934 Professor Dr. Ferdinand Porsche (main picture) died on January 30th 1951 in Stuttgart.
