Jun. 12, 1972 - Jo Bonnier Killed in Le mans Crash: Joachim Bonnier, 42, of Sweden, was killed during the Le mans 24-hour car race yesterday as his Lola-Ford, in collision with a Ferrari catapulted over a guard rail and plunged into a thicket of pine trees. Bonnier was travelling at about 150 m.p.h. when his car was involved in a collision on a curve before the tight Indianapolis Bend.
