Oct. 10, 1976 - World Motor Racing Champion James Hunt Arrives Home After his Success in the Japanese Grand Prix: Britain's world motor racing champion, James Hunt, flew into Heathrow Airport today with a big welcome from his family and his girlfriend, actress Jane Birbeck. He was cheered by the crowd as he left the jet aircraft which flew in from Tokyo today. James became world champion on Sunday when he finished third in the Japanese Grand Prix. The dethrowned champion Niki Lauda retired after only completing one lap.
