Aug. 08, 1975 - Barry Sheene takes The 750 cc title At Silverstone: Barry Sheene, 24, swept to victory in the john player British Grand Prix for the second successive year at Silverstone yesterday, and in so doing clinched the 750 cc European Championship, Sheene powered his 750cc three cylinder Suzuki around 35 laps of the circuit at a race record speed of 108.99 mph. in 56 minutes 25.2 secs. He was challenged throughout the race by Barry Ditchburn, riding his 750cc Kawasaki, who finished second. photo shows.
