Oct. 10, 1979 - 70th Birthday of Bernd Rosemeyer: Seventy years old would be on the 14th October 1979 the famous German car-racer Bernd Rosemeyer besides his contemporary Rudolf Caracciola one of the most popular driver of this time. Rosemeyer undertook at first from 1931 - 1934 motor-cycle racings (there he was the winner of Hockenheim) afterwards he was from 1935 until his death 1938 car-racer. He won several prices and titles, so the Groe Preis of Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Czechoslovakia, two times the Eifel -Racing (1936 and 1937) he was 1936 the European champion as well as the German street and mountain champion and set up several best times. During one of his record-testings he was killed in a car-accident on the motorway of Frankfurt/Dramstadt/West Germany. The racer was married with the famous flyer Elly Beinhorn.
