Aug. 09, 1964 - Security Council Calls For Immediate Cease-Fire In Cyprus: The Security Council continued its debate today on complaints by Turkey and Cyrus, and adopted a draft resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire in Cyprus. In addition, the resolution asked all parties concerned to co-operate fully with the Commander of the United Nations Peace-Keeping Force in Cyprus in restoring peace and security on the island.
