Sep. 09, 1965 - Security council calls for Immediate End of Hostilities Between India and Pakistan. United Nations, New York, 6 September 1965 The Secretary General, U Thant, announced this afternoon that he planned a very early visit to the area, shortly after the Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution noting with deep concern the extension of fighting between India and Pakistan and calling for an immediate end to hostilities.
