1968 - GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESUMES TWENTY-SECOND SESSION: ADMITS MAURITIUS AS 124TH MEMBER B=NATION. The General Assembly, resuming its twenty-second regular session this afternoon, admitted Mauritius as the 124th Member of the United Nations and decided to take up at once both the the item on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and the item on South West Africa. The President, Corneliu Manascu (Romania), said the third item remaining on the agenda of the session, by decision of the Assembly on 19 December 1967- the item on the situation in the Middle East-would continue to be before the Assembly.
