Sep. 10, 1972 - Security Council Fails To Adopt Draft Resolution Calling For Cessation Of Military Operations In Middle East: The security council tonight failed to adopt a draft resolution relating to the complaints b Syria and Lebanon of aggression by Israel, whereby the Council would have called on the parties concerned to case all military operations immediately and exercise the greatest restraint in the interest of Internationale security. The President said at the end if the meeting that that the Council remained seized of the Syrian and Lebanese complaints, and that a further meeting would be called when appropriates, after consultation with members. The vote was 13in favor to 1 against (United States), with 1 abstention (Panama)
