Jan. 01, 1976 - Security Council invites and hears Palestine liberation organization representative as it begins debate on Middle East: The Security Council this afternoon began consideration of the Middle East problem including the Palestinian question after deciding to invite the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to participate in the discussion. Statements in the debate were made by the representatives of the PLO and of Libya. The representatives of the PLO, Farouk Khaddoumi, is seen taking his seat at the Council table
