Sep. 09, 1975 - General Assembly Opens Thirtieth regular Session There states to United Nations Membership: The General Assembly, opening its Thirtieth regular Session this afternoon, elected Gaston Thron, Prime Minister and foreign Minister of Luxembourg, as its President, and admitted three new member states to the United Nations: Cape Verde, Sao Tome and principe, and Mosambiquem The Organizaion now has 141 Members. The Assembly adopted without a vote separate draft resolutions calling for the admission of three new members to the United States all former Territories under Portuguese Administration -- had been admitted unanimously.
