Sep. 09, 1978 - 65-year-old Catherine Branwell-Booth receives Speaker of the year award: 95 year-old Commissioner Catherine Bramwell- Both. Granddaughter of the founder of the Salvation Army. General William Booth, last today presented with the award as Best Speakers of the Year by the Guild of Professional Toast masters at Most and Chandons London headquarters, Mount St. This award was the idea of Ivor Spencer, President of the Guild who has listened to over 25000 speeches in his time as a toastmaster.
