Jun. 30, 1983 - Thursday June 30th, 1983, New York City ? One of the founders of the Independent Soviet Peace Group, Sergei Batovrin, held his first press conference today since arriving from the Soviet Union. Mr. Batovrin who helped found the ?Group to establish trust between the USSR and the USA? was imprisoned for a month in the Psycho Neurological Hospital #114 in Moscow last year and was continually harassed by Soviet authorities until his forced expulsion on June 19th of this year. Mr. Batovrin, an artist, was joined at the press conference with a fellow founder of the group Mr. Misha Ostrovsky, who was expelled earlier in the year from the Soviet Union after being held under house arrest.
