Mr Justice Salmon in Belgravia, London

Sep. 09, 1958 - Murder threat to Race war Judge leaving for old bailey this morning: Mr. Justice Salmon, the judge who jailed nine white youths for four years for beating up black men, has been threatened with murder in a letter. The letter, claimed to be signed by a group of ex-commandos, said reprisals would be taken against him and that he would be shot dead. The judge handed the letter to Soctland Yard, and detectives are now trying to trace the senders. Photo shows Mr. Justice Salmon leaving his town house in Wilton-street, Belgravia, this morning for the Old Bailey, where he will be hearing the Mayfair fashion king murder case
