Oct. 30, 1956 - The Munich Pioneers Teaching Battalion laid a pontoon bridge across the Donau (River Danube) near Ingolstadt, Germany. It was the first time, post WW2, that the pioneers had taken up an exercise like this. Our picture shows a moment in the laying of the bridge, which was 100m long and took 50 minutes to build
