Jan. 01, 1981 - RUPERT MURDOCH has become the new owner of the Times group this afternoon. The announcement was made at a press conference at the port man hotel in London this evening. Mr. Murdoch is the owner of the News of the World and the Sun newspapers. The new owner of the Times holds the paper while the Briton of the Sunday times HAROLD EVANS looks on
