National No-Litter Week, Keep Britain Tidy campaign

Jul. 07, 1972 - Free Spectacular Shows To Attack The Litter Problem: Litter is the subject of a massive attack by top TV entertainers who will punch home the shame and horror of litter dropping with music, dancing and songs on the beaches, shopping precincts and other litter-spoiled spots throughout Britain. The National No-Litter Week begins on July 12th and today there was a pre-launch of the new open air keep Britain Tidy Summer Spectacular which was introduced by Mr. Peter Walker, Secretary of State for the Environment at Lincoln's Inn Fields. London, The idea is to bring a dull, serious problem to the attention of the thoughtless litter-droppers by using humour and persuasion, rather than preaching at them. Photo Shows Mr. Peter Walker joins in the dancing with the BBC's fanous Young Generation dance team at the pre-launch of the Keep Britain Tidy Summer Spectacular at Lincoln's Inn Fields today
