Feb. 25 Canadian Indian Chiefs To Be Received By The Queen: Six Indians Chiefs and their wives, from Alberta, Canada, wearing their traditional dress, have arrived in Britain in commemoration of the signing of two Treaties with the Great White Mother, Queen Victoria, in 1876 and 1877. The Treaties, nos 6 and 7, ceded to the Crown a total of 163, 900 square miles in Central and Southern Alberta and Central Saakatchewan in return for certain rights, gifts and annuites. later today they will be received by HM the Queen at Buckingham Palace. This will be the first occasion on which Canadian Indians have made a formal visit outside of Canada for the express purpose of conveying greetings to their Sovereign. Photo shows.
