Jan. 01, 1955 - Navy And RAF Step Up Operation Food-Drop: A great combined air, sea and land operation is now in operation bringing relief to the snowbound northern counties of Scotland. Helicopters and other planes are flying all day dropping food and medical supplies to beleaguered villages. Nearly three tons of supplies have already been dropped.
