Jan. 01, 1955 - Operation Snowdrop Planes In Rescue Work In Snowbound Scotland: The Navy and RAF were equal to the many relief calls which were pouring in last night from snowbound villages in Northern Scotland. Naval and Air Force planes flew over Scotland's desolate wastes all day yesterday, delivering food, evacuating the sick and seeking out SOS messages in the snow. Photo shows The woman in the stretcher here had been without fresh food for nine days
