Nell Gwynne's House, Windsor

Mar. 22 Nell Gwynne's House, now an antique shop and beyond Drury House. Nell Gwynn's house is a crooked 17th century dwelling in which the King's favourite is reputed to have lived until 1680. A painting of the famous lady hangs over the entrance. The Royal Borough of Windsor in Coronation Year: always a must on the list of places for the tourist to visit, Windsor this year is expecting even more visitors than usual. Queen Victoria whose statue stands at the bottom of Castle Hill spent most of the years of her widowhood there. Many of the shops in Windsor have the By Appointment sign hanging over their doors and the sovereign very often shops personally in the town
