Aug. 08, 1973 - Wreck Of Early Dutch Ship At Hastings: The bows and gunwales of the Dutch East Indiaman, Amsterdam, emerging at low tide on the beach at Hastings, where she sank in 1749 with a cargo of gold, silver and wine. Amsterdam city council are to raise2 million to return the wreck to the city for its 700th anniversary in 1975.
