New combat clothing, School of Infantry demonstration

Oct. 10, 1957 - School Of Infantry Annual Demonstration: The annual special demonstration at the School of Infantry, Warminster, was held yesterday, and consisted of a programme of a demonstration of infantry weapon firing, a static display of infantry weapons and equipment, and a tactical demonstration - Infantry in defence under conditions of nuclear war. The new combat clothing which is being tested on worldwide troop trials on which its future depends as to whether it will be for general issue. The new clothing dispenses with the great coat, also the use of a blanket is not necessary. On left is Lt Cpl. Frank Nixon of County Tyrone, wearing the new fighting equipment, and on right is Lt Cpl. Harry Patton of County Antrim, wearing the new marching equipment
