Mar. 03, 1973 - Court Line Introduces new uniforms designed by Mary Quant: New stewardess uniforms for Court Line Aviation, Britain's biggest holiday airline, were shown for the first time today at Luton Airport. They have been designed by Mary Quant and are being introduced to coincide with the entry into service of Court Line's new Lockheed Tristar fleet at the beginning of next month. The fashion show took place on board Halcyon Days, the first of two TriStars ordered by the airline. The uniform consists of an overcoat and a jacket worn with either trousers or a skirt all in camel coloured lightweight wool mix material. A bright cotton blouse in pink, magenta, orange or turquoise echoing the colours of Court Line's aircraft is worn with the suit and a striped cravat tucks into the neck. A camel coloured knitted waistcoat can be worn over the blouse. The outfit is completed by tan shoes or knee length boots, a capacious shoulder bag, soft leather gloves and a smart camel coloured hat. A pink denim apron is worn for cabin service.
