New Structures Laboratory, Royal Aircraft Establishment
Jun. 06, 1966 - The New Structures Laboratory at the Royal Aircraft Establishment to be opened by the Queen Today. Today, Her Majesty the Queen will open the new Structures Laboratory at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, Hants. The Laboratory, built at a cost of some million, is capable of testing the complete airframe of the Anglo French supersonic airliner Concord. Work on the site began in July 1962 and has completed in early 1966.
