Nicholas Egon, artist, with portraits of Toscanini
Oct. 10, 1957 - Toscanini's Portrait-painted to music Nicholas Egon and He had never met.. Nicholas Egon the famous portrait painter is now putting the finishing touches to his posthumous portraits of Toscanini the famous Italian conductor. Egon played records of Toscanini's music the whole time he was painting. Egon has painted four portraits in all-the first three taking several weeks. and then, to a recording of Toscanini's Verdi Requiem-the final one was completed in an hour. All four of the portraits are to be exhibited at the Royal Festival Hall next year.
