Composer Nico Dostal will be 80 on November 27th 1975 Nico Dostal, the Austrian composer, was born eighty years ago on November 27th 1895 in Klosterneuburg near Vienna. He started studying the law, but went secretly to the academy of music, where he studied sacred music. His first composition was a mass. After World War I, Nico Dostal became theater musical director in Innsbruck and afterwards in Salzburg. 1924 he went to Berlin, where he met Walter Kollo, Nico Dostal composed many operettas, including Clivia, Monika, Manina, Zirkusblut and Hungarian Wedding'. Furthermore he wrote the music to many films
