Jan. 09 Dr. Roger Guillemin Becomes Nobel Laureate: Dr. Roger Guillemin, a Resident Fellow of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies is one of the three recipients of this year's Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine, it was announced today. He is to receive this honor for his research work with brain hormones. Specifically, this includes TRF, LRF, and Somatostatin - potent modifiers of the body's hormone control system. Dr. Guillemin is particularly interested in Endorphins, the latest class of brain hormones which may uncover the key to mental illness. Sharing the prize with Dr. Guillemin are Dr. Andrew V. Schally of the Veterans Administration Hospital in New Orleans and Dr. Rosalyn Yalow of the Veterans Administration Hospital in New York City
