Nov. 11, 1967 - Professor Bethe Awarded Nobel Prize For Physics: Professor Hans Albrecht Bethe, Theoretical physicist, Professor of Physics at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, was chosen by the Swedish Academy of Science as winner of the Nobel Physics Prize for 1967. By combining known data from nuclear studies in the laboratory with extensive theoretical computations, Professor Bethe concluded that the energy radiated by stars must result from long processes in which hydrogen fused to form helium.
