Jul. 07, 1964 - Mr. Norman Reid Appointed Director Of The Tate Gallery: Mr. Norman Reid, 48, Keeper of the Tate Gallery since 1959, has been appointed to succeed Sir. John Rothenstein, as the Gallery's Director. Norman Reid is married with two children and lives in Beckenham, Kent. He was a grammar school boy, went to Edinburgh College of Art, and was a major in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders during the war.
