Oct. 10, 1970 - Tanker Pumping Oil From Pacific Glory in Re-Float attempt.: An Empty tanker successfully manoevured alongside the Pacific Glory yesterday and began pumping 18, 000 tons of crude oil from the stricken vessel in an attempt to refloat her. The Liberian - registered Pacific Glory was stranded on a shingle bank near the Isle of Wight following a collision with another Liberian tanker, the Allegro, last week. Weather conditions remained perfect as the Shell tanker Halia, edged alongside the Pacific Glory, which is carrying 50, 000 tons of crude oil.
