Olympic posters on sale prior to Munich Games
Jul. 07, 1970 - German Federal Railway Campaigning For Olympia 72: The German Federal Railway has decided to do its part in order to help popularise Olympic ideals and at the same time raising additional funds for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. Up to the end of 1971 all railway booking offices will sell picture series with Olympic themes at 2 D-marks each, the net profit of which will go to the German Olympic Committee. Each series consists of 6 four-coloured themes from the various Olympic Games, There will always be the official Olympic Poster, Olympic contest grounds, a gold medal and a locomotive typical for the host country the Olympiad. At present the series Helsinki 1952 and Rome of 1960 are being sold; in September the series Mexico 1968 will be forthcoming, to be followed by the series :'London 1948, Melbourne 1956, and Tokyo 194 in 1971. The Federal Railway is expecting to raise an additional 1.5 million D-marks for the Olympic Games as a result of this action. Photo Shows A Young lady buying the series Rome 1960
