The Olympic flame was rekindled at Olympica, Southern Greece today - to be carried by a relay of runners and by ship to Rome - for the opening of the 1960 Olympic Games. In accordance with tradition the torch was lighted by the rays of the sun. Photo shows the first athlete starts off with the flame from Olympia - first stage of the long journey to Rome
