Feb. 02, 1971 - Setting-up of tent roof on Munich's Olympic grounds has started: At present one works at the net on Munich's (Germany) Olympic grounds - the huge steel-cable construction which will be hang up on the already erected big masts and which shall cover the stadium. gymnasium and swimming-hall is being braided on the earth (photo). After having been finished and hang up the net will be covered with acryl glass plates which will be of the size 10ft x 10 ft. Every 30 inch these plates are fastened with rubber bumpers which contain a steel spring; the single plates are hold together by elastic sealing sections. When the steel net is stressed and shifts the plates can move and there will be no strains. The covering of the gigantic roof construction shall be started this summer
