Sep. 09, 1971 - Pre-Olympic competition in Munich (West-Germany): For the first time: there was a general trial of the Olympic route. There was an international competition of the marathon runners and of walkers, who went a distance of 50 kilometers. Favorites of the morethon-race were the Japaneses, who also became the winners. for the first time electric care without exhaust were used, they are vehicles made by the companies Messerschmidt Bolkow and BMW, which run with batteries for about 65 Miles.
