Olympics - Pan American Games
Nov. 11, 1971 - The Crowning of part of the completed Olympic Stadium in Munich: Instead of the customary tree signifying the successful completion of the roof of a building, the Olympic building site workers constructed this impressive crown of steel and garlands. It is to be lifted by two helicopters for the forthcoming toping off ceremony and set down on the finished roof shown in the background of our picture. The workers will celebrae the occasion with free beer donated by the contractors
