Aug. 08, 1973 - A year ago, the XXth Olympic summer games were opened. Lots of sunshine : Accompanied the opening ceremony of the games, when the youth of the world marched into the largest stadium, spanned by a daringly constructed tent roof. more than 80, .000 people watched the games live, and many millions more throughout the world saw them on TV. unfortunately the light hearted games were turned to tragedy by a group of Arab terrorists who attacked the Israeli team, killing 11 of its members and their coach. The Olympic committee decided to continue with the games inspire of this appealing event. many athletes who had taken part, will remember them vividly. photo shows The solemn opening ceremony in Munich's largest Olympic stadium, august 26th, 1972
