Sep. 09, 1961 - The Omugabe of Ankole, Uganda, Africa. Rubambanai Omugabe, Charles Godfrey Ankole, a district in the Western Province of Uganda. He is the great-grandson of Nutambuka who was a victorious, outspoken warrior of Ankole. Gasyonga II, who is 6 feet 3 inches tall and well built, came to the throne in 1945 in succession to his cousin, the late Edward Sulemni Kayaha II who died without a male heir. In 1953 the Omugabe attended the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and made an extensive tour of the United Kingdom. In the following year he welcomed the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh to Ankole during their visit to Uganda. He is keenly interested in agriculture, animal husbandry and education
