Aug. 10, 1976 - Members of the Public Attend The Open Air Rehearsals of Christopher Marlowe's Tamburlaine The Great': Members of the public were welcome at the Rehearsals of Christopher Marlowe's Tamburlaine the great, Peter Hall's production which will open the National Theatre open - stage 1160-seat Olivier Theatre, now nearing completion beside the already open Lyttleton Theatre. Rehearsal facilities have forced the cast on to the National Theatre's riverside terraces where they rehearse before an informal audience in daylight.
