May 05, 1956 - Fifteenth Century Tomb Opened At Chislehurst, Kent. May Prove Theory On Shakespeare Plays: Workmen opened the fiteenth century tomb of Sir Thomas Walsingham in St. Nicholas Church, Chislehurst, today - in search of evidence to support the theory that Christopher Marlowe wrote the Shakespeare plays. Permission for the opening of the tomb was granted to Mr. Calvin Hoffman, an American critic. Mr. Hoffman hopes to find manuscripts which would prove his theory.
