Opening of Manzu Collection near Rome, Italy
Jan. 09 In 1966, upon initiative of Mssre Ingeborg Schabel, France Feroli, Cesare Brandi, Alexandre Rosenberg, Ennio Parrelli the friends of Manzu Committee was constituted with a view to founding a collection which would gather a group of the most significant and representative works by sculptor Giacomo Manzu. These works are meant to stand in permanent exhibition and to be available for students, amateurs and supporters from all over the world to see at all times. As a result, a building is now standing at Ardea, in the countryside of Rome, where the Artist has been working over the past years. This building is called Raccolta Amici di Manzu and gather some 70 sculptures, 200 drawings, 40 graphic works and some gold pieces by Giacomo Manzu. Many of various personalities of the art, political were attending at the official opening of the Raccolta'.
