Opening of Manzu Collection near Rome, Italy
Feb. 25 In 1966, upon initiative of Masre Ingeborg Schabel, Franca Feroli, Cesare Brandi, Alexandre Rosenberg, Ennio Parrelli the Friends of Manzu committee was constituted with a view to founding a collection which would gather a group of the most significant and representative works by sculptor Giacomo Manzu. These works are meant to stand in per Manet exhibition and to be available for students, amateurs and supporters from all over the world to see at all times. As a result, a building is now standing at Ardea, in the countryside of Rome, where the artist has been working over the past years. This building is called Raccolta amici di Manzu and houses some 70 sculptures, 200 drawings, 40 graphic works and some gold pieces by Giacomo Manzu.
