Sep. 09, 1959 - Black Orpheus - Orfeu Negro'. In the presence and in Rio de Janeiro, Marcel Camus film of the classical legend of Orpheus and Eurydice takes place. Orpheus appears as handsome, black conductor, Eurydice is a young woman with little experience who came to Rio to see the famous carnival. Breno Mello (C) in an ensemble of black actors plays the title part of the film which was best film awarded the golden palm in Cannes this year Orfeu Negro will soon be seen in Germany as well
