Owen Davidson and Roy Emerson in match at Wimbledon
Jun. 06, 1966 - Sensation At Wimbledon-Roy Emerson Beaten: During his match against fellow-Australian, Owen Davidson, Roy Emerson, the No. 1 seed, in rushing to the net to return a shot, slipped and got tangled up with microphone, ball boy and umpire's stand. His opponent rushed over to see if he was hurt, and after a few minutes, Emerson was able to play again. After the match, in which Emerson was beaten by Davidson, Emerson went to hospital for a check-up.
