Feb. 02, 1953 - New Style Weapons At The Small Arms School - Hythe, Kent. Celebrating Centenary. Many new and old style weapons were demonstrated today at the Small Arms School, at Hythe, when the school celebrated its 100th anniversary. Some of the early weapons were contrasted with their modern counterparts. Photo shows The new Patchett 9mm Machine Carbine - similar to the Sten Gun - during the demonstration. This weapon is being tested in various theatres of war at the moment and it is expected to be included in the weapons of the army of today. It is being fired by Sgt.
