Jun. 06, 1973 - Ulster Ex-Senator killed on Eve of Poll: Two days before Ulster's Assembly elections a Catholic election official and his Protestant woman friend were stabbed to death yesterday. The murdered election official was Mr Patrick Paddy Wilson, 39, a senator in the old Stormont Parliament, who was agent for Mr. Gerry Fitt, leader of the Social Democratic and Labour Party. He and his friend, Miss Irene Andrews, 29, who had represented Northern Ireland in television's Come Dancing contest, were found stabbed to death near Mr. Wilson's red mini on the outskirts of Belfast. Mr. Wilson had been stabbed 30 times and Miss Andrews had been stabbed 20 times.
