Jan. 01, 1968 - Beatles Launch New Pop Group: The Beatles last night launched a new pop group. Four young men who will be known to the record-buying public (and, no doubt for Radio One's listening millions) as The Grapefruit'. Few details are known as yet (apart from the young men's names - George Alexander, Pete Swettenham, Geoffrey Swettenham and John Perry), but it seems that the group are another facet of the Beatles new company, simply called Apple.
