Paul Thomanek on trial for war crimes, Hagen, Germany
Nov. 11, 1957 - of murder in more than 100 cases and on trial is the former Nazi SS Stormtrooper and concentration camp quartermaster Paul Thomanek, 49, of Dahle. The trial is taking place at the jury-court of Hagen, Westfalen. He is accused of having murdered more than 100 Jews in slave-labour-camps. Thomanek had been an auxiliary policeman in the CSR - after the German troops had moved into the country - and member of the camp-authorities in three different slave-labour-camps near Hemberg and Tarnopol.
