Nov. 11, 1953 - Stratford Production Opens In London: Peggy Ashcroft will appear as Cleopatra, Michael Redgrave as Antony and Marius Goring as Caesar, when the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre company open a special six-week London season of Antony and Cleopatra at the Princes Theatre this evening. This visit to the West End marks the first time in the history of the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre that one play has been taken straight to London from the Stratford Repertory; and Glen Byam Shaw's production of Antony and Cleopatra opens at the Princes Theatre only four days after it had been played at Stratford on the final night of the 1953 season.
